The band started when six friends with the same passion for music and drinks decided to blend the musical genres they had been listening and playing for years with the night-life atmosphere and environment they were working in as bartenders.
The resulting songs combine the different ingredients and sounds that have influenced the members of the band, from the authenticity of blues and the rawness of british rock to the samples, drums, and production techniques of hip-hop and dance music.
Among The Citizens are a 4 piece indie/alternative band based near Peterborough, UK. The band have collaboratively created their own distinct sound from a blend of influences such as The Cure and Echo and The Bunnymen with their dreamy, infectious chorus guitar, as well as contemporary artists such as JAWS with their lush and memorable synthesiser/guitar melodies.
The band have been included on the Big In 2019 list published by respected promoters This Feeling in association with Fred Perry Subculture and last year were invited to play as part of the prestigious Blogtober Festival backed by Born Music.
They have supported Eliza and The Bear and sold out shows with promoters including This Feeling, Disorder, Lost in The Manor, Green Mind and Juicebox Live as part of their debut UK tour which took in cities including Brighton, London, Newcastle, Sheffield and Leeds.
Among The Citizens have received radio support from BBC 6 Music, BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio and won the New Music Generator award for Breakthrough Artist voted for by a panel of music experts from across East Anglia.
Support will come from brand new synth pop outfit The Mustoes! Formerly known as Worcester’s much loved RVRMN, they have reformed and are back and bigger than ever…

SUE will also be joining! A Noise Rock/Post-Punk/Punk Rock band from the West Midlands. Known for their wild performances and scratchy DIY punk sound, they have been parading around their local scene with confidence and an obvious passion for what they do. Their wails and whines, their distorted tones and frantic rhythms will grip you from start to finish. They embrace the chaos that lies within all creativity, using it to fuel the fire that let’s them to be the best they can be. They love what they do and have a fantastic time doing it.
