‘The protean slide guitarist leads his power trio with style, gusto and virtuoso playing that fuses spontaneity with real craft. Redfern combines the rawness of Hound Dog Taylor, the freeform approach of Sonny Sharrock, the firebrand playing of Johnny Winter and the technique of Dave Hole with the ghost of Elmore James’. Pete Feenstra

Troy Redfern is a slash and burn blues guitarist from the mountains of the Welsh border. Troy’s name has been steadily rising on the British and European blues scene over the last few years and he’s been getting rave reviews from the blues press and audiences everywhere.
His raw, bold style, especially when playing slide is what turns heads and electrifies audiences with blues that has echos of hill country blues as well as swamp and delta.

He’s a musical visionary’      Blues Matters Magazine
‘Master slide guitarist’       The Blues Magazine
‘One of the finest exponents of Blues Rock in Britain today’  Radio Cardiff

The Strays produce vibrant, exciting music that people just want to move to, with a nod to vintage style and rock and roll, topped with a modern gritty vibe.Energy, power and fun is the driving factor and this is apparent in their performance style, which is larger than life, interactive, and deliciously unpredictable.
After smashing onto the scene and releasing their debut EP in April 2017, the Cheltenham based Garage Rock n Roll band were endorsed by Vocalzone and featured as ones to watch in UK Rock n Roll Magazine.

2018 saw the release of their eagerly awaited second EP ‘Brand New Day’ coupled with support slots with Republica, Eddie And The Hot Rods and “The Undateables” star Daniel Wakeford’s o2 Academy tour.
