Take The 5th – Rock The Marrs Bar One Last Time: Celebrate 25 years of Take The 5th playing The Clash’s legendary sound. Don’t miss the final hometown gig!
In case you wondered, “Take the 5th” take their name from the title given by The Clash to their 2nd US tour of 1979. What you get are fistfuls of songs by The Clash, performed with power and conviction. There is no attempt to impersonate though, what would be the point of that? The Clash did it right first time. The magnificent music of The Clash is a unique blend of rock and reggae, and it remains just as relevant now in 2024, as it was when first performed.
Take The 5th is a Worcester band, and they have been gigging for 25 years, but first and foremost they are fans of The Clash, whose music, they believe, deserves to be heard live and loud, any day, in every town.
However, it is finally coming to an end, and the band is about to close The Clash song book. Officially, this will be THE LAST TIME they Rock The Marrs Bar, on Friday 27th December 2024.
They hope to see you all there at the best hometown celebration gig possible, and you’ll have the whole weekend to recover from it all!
