Surprise Attacks bring you their first killer gig of 2019 in conjunction with Independent Venue Week
£4 advance / £6 OTD.
Launching his much anticipated 2nd LP “Turbo Island”, we’re very excited to welcome Steve Strong, a one man arsenal of beats, tapped guitar and lush, textural melodies. His music is as withheld as it is grandiose, as skeletal as it is layered, equal parts shimmering and pulsing. It glimmers, swings and explodes in all the right places, sliding gracefully from one section to another, played as tightly as it is loose and free.
Blending influences including post rock pioneers Slint, math rock outfits such as Lite and Toe, and forward thinking progressive electronica like Four Tet, Caribou and Squarepusher, Steve Strong is a favourite in these parts, don’t miss out on this!
Apocalyptic experimental rock from Leeds. A brutally dark, synth driven, sci-fi themed experimental rock goliath.
Too Piste are a punk/math rock power duo from Nuneaton. Loud, intense and fresh from rehearsal rooms, we are ready to come out of our shell and start making some noise. Influenced by Blakfish, Adebisi Shank and Death From Above 1979, driven by distortion, with a twist of pop culture and a strong hit of coffee.
Gracing our stage for the first time, expect a return visit from this killer band.
A I W A S S
Ritualistic dark industrial drone from the collective unconscious of Rosebud and Ferric Lux. Live and heavily improvised analogue synths, guitars and shamanic vocals to summon the sacred, the profane, the esoteric and the ECSTATIC.
£4 advance tickets.
